Vilafranca del Bierzo

Vilafranca del Bierzo

Day 31- Today we traveled through Villafranca Del Bierzo ( 11th century founding ). On our way to Riitelan to meet our friends (tribe).  We keep running into our Irish friend Sheena and did so again today (she is a major part of our Camino tribe and will be a lifetime friend).

I  must admit when I woke this morning, I was very tired and my legs ached.  I did not want to get up.  I was just ready for this long trek to end.  Once Morgan and I started out in the clear crisp air I felt rejuvenated.  The surrounding mountains were beatiful.  Walking in a postcard.

Today I waked in honor of my current clients CMC, Golden Lighting, King Arthur’s Tools, Marpan, Primier and Simpson Nurseries.  They contribute so much to our community.  Honored to do work with them.

This afternoon we waked with Sophia and Leana (mother/daughter) from Norway. They are walking a leg of this trail for the sense of freedom it brings.

Tomorrow we go up and over our last big mountain 1400 meters.  It’s a tough steep climb.

Dinner is cooking at our Albergue and smells yum. Home cooked by Carlos. Time to eat!

We are now entering Galicia.

109 miles to Santiago.

Dinner at our Hostel in Ruitelan. Incredible carrot soup and pasta
