06/16 – Logrono to Navarette

Leaving Logrono

Leaving Logrono

They come in all shapes and ages on this Trail to Santiago.  Seem to be from all over except we have not met anyone from Russia or Africa.

Met an Aussie awhile back who lost his restaurant and partner.  I guess walking this trail is better than  losing yourself in alcohol or drugs.

we really liked Logrono a lively University city with a population of about 130,000.  Nice and flat for a change.  Good blend of old and new; lots of places to meet drink and eat.  There is something appealing about new places people, culture, food and languages.

Short day of a 3 hour walk to Navarette.  It is a historic Camino town with a 16th century church on the square, Church of the Assumption.

Today I walked for my two grand daughters Layla and Jillian.

Tonight we look forward to catching up with our Irish friend Shayna for dinner.
